1. Happy weekend to all! My wanderlust is in overdrive, and as I am in the middle of a major website update, I have been re-visiting all of the locations I've traveled to over the years.

This was one of my most favorite views of the Holocaust Memorial on Union Street in Boston. It is hard to form words about how I felt when I was there. I can say that I am grateful that this memorial exists, and especially grateful for the opportunity to travel and be absorbed in local history and culture.

  2. Sometimes I have to stop and revel in the amount of talent and artistry I am surrounded by. Not just because I live in New York City, but because my friends are truly incredible people, each with a different talent (and oftentimes, each with several talents!)

My friend Walt is a pathologist by day and a painter by night- he paints more than anyone I've ever met, and each of his creations speak to me in a different way.

I photograph his paintings for his records and to post on his blog for sale. This particular one was from his recent Abstract Series- I always find my inspiration through paintings and music, so painting and painters are gods to me!

Enjoy :) And if you like his work- contact him to purchase!!

  3. I have an incredible amount of talented friends- I am grateful for each and every one of them in my life. This blog is brought to you by 2 very peaceful and powerful friends of mine in LA- Marcy and John. They have a phenomenal life-changing business called Sancti Center, and I encourage everyone to check it out!

I photographed a few pendants for them, and it always thrills me to see where my work ends up :)

Here's the description of this particular talisman pendant, and its incredible story.

Happy Ash Wednesday and Lent for those who participate!

  4. Happy Mardi Gras ! I must admit, I have never been to New Orleans, and Mardi Gras really crept up on me this year- how is it already the end of February???

At any rate, I thought it would be fun to contribute to the spirit of parades, festivals, and celebrations- so here is the closest I have gotten to shooting Mardi Gras( The West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn)... maybe next year, although admittedly, I have secretly always wanted to go to Carnival in Brazil. 2013 sounds like a good year for travel :)

    Happy celebrating!

  5. I couldn't stay away from food for too long :) Winter time is lingering a bit (though it is still officially Winter) it has been an incredibly mild one in the city this year in comparison to last year's never-ending Snowpocalypse!

This is an oldie but goodie- made by the very talented and all-around lovely woman, one of my first clients in NY- Andrea Beaman.

The recipe can be found here on her site. She has a multitude of amazing recipes on her site if you are searching for dinner ideas!

    Stay warm!

  6. I am a self-proclaimed Australia o'phile and there aren't many of us... a close second for the country I feel most invigorated by is Italy. Oh Italy- with your romantic ways, and gorgeous language, and oh yes your gluttonous food. I certainly have my moments with Italy.... I even have one of my 3 business cards as an Italy business card! It is fitting that last month I photographed National Italian Day and this month will photograph Gala Italia. :)

Enjoy my fav visit to Venizia !

  7. I wonder if there is such a thing :) Happy weekend to all ! I am absolutely loving life right now- I was shooting for nearly 1 month straight, and finally have a minute to come up for air; I love my job!

I have a number of talented friends that I am so fortunate to surround myself with. This particular friend, Jenn Jung has been a chef for many years and has worked with all of my chef idols and crushes :) We get together for a big photoshoot every few months and this is a peek from our last installment. A neighbor gave her these DARLING vintage teacups, and we were feeling the chill of the Winter time- so we did a hot chocolate and marshmallow for our beginning shot.

    Enjoy :)

  8. I got a call- can you shoot at Eataly's Mozzarella Counter? No time needed to think.. YES! And when the woman making the mozzarella asked if I wanted to try some... no pause...another resounding YES!

Here's the tearsheet, I got quite a lot more photos- perhaps I will share them on another day, is there a such thing as National Mozzarella Day? :)

  9. I have an ink addiction. It is true. And I am currently inspired to dream up my next creation. Here is another extremely detailed piece of work by the ever talented Mike at Supernaut Tattoo in Easton, PA. Genius.

  10. I am a little early with this- or perhaps perfectly timed. I love love- but alas in the beautiful words from a TV show I saw once

“I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love.” This remains one of my all time fav mantras.

And what's up with the feet? Well, I created this image back in my photography school days for a Stock Photography class. The assignment was to exercise the ability to think conceptually, so words were given to create images for. I came up with this one for Love.

    Love deeply and inconveniently :)
