It is a joy to photograph people- I learn so much by observing them first without my camera, and progressing to something exceptional once I get behind my camera... this is my darling friend Kristen- she was so lovely to work with. :)
Living in Santa- culturally impaired Barbara for 3 years was one of the most interesting periods of my life. I was there for a dream... finally attending Brooks Institute of Photography as a 24 year old who never lost the hope and desire that the bright eyed- bushy tailed 17 year old in me was determined to do upon graduation from high school. I digress... today I dug up one of the wonderful, bizarre parts of this incredibly confusing town :) The architecture was always to die for- and this is a 4x5 film scan!!! Happy Friday!!
My first and only trip to Ireland was in 2000 (far too long ago!) By far, it was one of the most stunning countries I've visited- and look forward to going back one day. The people were charming, the landscape a visual delight, and the food warm and comforting... and to you Irish at heart or by blood... I say.... Erin Go Bragh!!!Forgive the tardy post after St. Patty's Day, I'm still in the Irish spirit of celebration!
Happy Spring everyone! NY is trying really hard to emerge from the Winter- but my heat is on, slipper socks in full effect, and I still feel like hibernating and eating warm comforty food- hence today's post. I shot this at the James Beard Foundation for their Chinese New Year celebration- yum!!
I tried this when I was traveling- I couldn't quite keep up- so here's another attempt- for all those outtakes I love, and photos that don't make the cut to my website or otherwise.. how about this? An attempt at a photo of the day? :) Simply, I like these pictures. This is a leaf in Melbourne, Australia... what do you think?
I have the wonderful fortune of shooting for the James Beard Foundation- each dinner has a theme and the Robert Burns tribute dinner was one of the most wonderful, culturally rich, traditional dinners I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. Whiskey was the drink of choice- this photo I just.. love. :) Enjoy !
In 2010, I went to Guatemala on a humanitarian photojournalism trip. I fondly remember each day of visiting this extraordinary country... and as I am updating my website- I am revisiting my images from this beautiful land. This was our day off at Lake Atitlan. Enjoy :)
9 years ago, my friend John forced his headphones into my ears once upon a time in the darkroom days of photography college. My life would be forever changed at that moment, because it was the first time I heard Howie Day. His genius voice and music became such a huge part of my life- this is a very special photo to me- it was the first time I've photographed him in concert as press (9 years after discovering him) :) More to come.....
Shooting in LA last week brought me the absolute honor to work with the best food stylist in the industry- Norman Walton Stewart III... this was our brainchild after shooting donuts for half the day :)

Wanderlust food, travel, and mostly musician portrait photographer trying to get to as many countries as humanly possible :) (all the while sampling the cuisine and listening to as much new music as possible along the way!)
