This is my talented friend Sarah Hethcoat. She has been one of the best models I've ever worked with. This is one of my many outtakes of her.

Living in Santa- culturally impaired Barbara for 3 years was one of the most interesting periods of my life. I was there for a dream...

My first and only trip to Ireland was in 2000 (far too long ago!) By far, it was one of the most stunning countries I've visited- and look forward to going back one day. The people were charming, the landscape a visual delight, and the food warm and comforting...

Happy Spring everyone! NY is trying really hard to emerge from the Winter- but my heat is on, slipper socks in full effect, and I still feel like hibernating and eating warm comforty food- hence today's post.

I tried this when I was traveling- I couldn't quite keep up- so here's another attempt- for all those outtakes I love, and photos that don't make the cut to my website or otherwise.. how about this? An attempt at a photo of the day? :) Simply, I like these pictures.

I have the wonderful fortune of shooting for the James Beard Foundation- each dinner has a theme and the Robert Burns tribute dinner was one of the most wonderful, culturally rich, traditional dinners I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. Whiskey was the drink of choice- this photo I just.. love.

In 2010, I went to Guatemala on a humanitarian photojournalism trip. I fondly remember each day of visiting this extraordinary country... and as I am updating my website- I am revisiting my images from this beautiful land. This was our day off at Lake Atitlan.

9 years ago, my friend John forced his headphones into my ears once upon a time in the darkroom days of photography college. My life would be forever changed at that moment, because it was the first time I heard Howie Day.

Shooting in LA last week brought me the absolute honor to work with the best food stylist in the industry- Norman Walton Stewart III...

It is a joy to photograph people- I learn so much by observing them first without my camera, and progressing to something exceptional once I get behind my camera... this is my darling friend Kristen- she was so lovely to work with.

From the James Beard Foundation yesterday- delicious and fashionable :)

Chefs & Champagne 2012 was a GLORIOUS, beautiful summer day- this was my second year shooting it-and I have to say, I really understand why NY'ers head to the Hamptons for the summer :) This was a perfect little sandwich prepared by Chef Cesare Casella, a personal fav of mine :)

I first heard of Ted Allen during the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy days (I miss that hilarious show!)...but now he is this sensational host, author, and famous voice from Chopped :) What a stand-up guy.

I love my job. Truly, it is incredible to be able to do what you love for a living- and to enjoy it! One of my favorite gigs is shooting for the James Beard Foundation .

Back in the summer of '07, I was about to graduate from photography college... and I expertly decided to go out with a bang. I created my own independent study class, and ran around Europe for 2 months.

.. so I was shooting headshots in The Cloisters- which happens to be one of my favorite, semi-hidden parks in New York. I took a client/friend there who is about to move to Oregon- and she felt right at home among the gorgeous green and quietness nestled at the tip of Manhattan.

Back into the archives... I found this wonderful photo of Ellie Krieger and Susan Ungaro (president of The James Beard Foundation), and just had to post! Ellie is absolutely gorgeous in person and ridiculously nice. She was extremely well spoken, knowledgeable, intelligent, and personable.

Forgive my absence... I blinked and suddenly it is MAY! How did that happen? I have about 4 million extremely exciting things in the works, and as a good friend of mine was recently visiting my hometown of Seattle, inevitably it brought up my pride and joy for the city I was born in.

What a GLORIOUS Spring day :) How are all my followers doing? I love comments, by the way, so I encourage you to leave them!

Dropbox was misbehaving a bit and reminded me to look through some photos I shot for James Beard Foundation's Neighborhood Italian Lunch in March.

Terrariums seem to be more popular today than I have ever observed in my lifetime! I adore the idea of something that brings so much light, good energy, and oxygen into my living space while requiring minimal care.

I love clients that will allow creative freedom during a shoot.... I have to say....

The NY weather is a bit bi-polar lately, but nonetheless, there are FEW places on Earth that have a more beautiful Spring than this city. If you have never experienced a NY Spring, get on a plane asap!

This is a Springy photo, although not in New York, it felt like the right image to post today.

4 years ago the James Beard Foundation came up with a fantastic idea to have a Sunday Supper at Chelsea Market. I was fortunate enough to photograph it, and rub elbows with some culinary legends.

Doesn't this look like a piece of art? Another gorgeous meal, and pleasing plating to make my job delicious and wonderful.

Welcome Spring! :)

Francois Payard was born.... and then there was Macaron Day NYC.

RUN, DONT WALK, DROP EVERYTHING.... EVERYTHING you are doing, and go see this play. Certifiably the most underrated play I have ever seen and one of the most astonishingly brilliant.

My first trip to Ireland was in 2000, and what a sight to behold...

Happy weekend to all! My wanderlust is in overdrive, and as I am in the middle of a major website update, I have been re-visiting all of the locations I've traveled to over the years.

This was one of my most favorite views of the Holocaust Memorial on Union Street in Boston.

Sometimes I have to stop and revel in the amount of talent and artistry I am surrounded by.

I have an incredible amount of talented friends- I am grateful for each and every one of them in my life. This blog is brought to you by 2 very peaceful and powerful friends of mine in LA- Marcy and John.

Happy Mardi Gras ! I must admit, I have never been to New Orleans, and Mardi Gras really crept up on me this year- how is it already the end of February???

At any rate, I thought it would be fun to contribute to the spirit of parades, festivals, and celebrations- so here is the closest I have gotte

I couldn't stay away from food for too long :) Winter time is lingering a bit (though it is still officially Winter) it has been an incredibly mild one in the city this year in comparison to last year's never-ending Snowpocalypse!

This is an oldie but goodie- made by the very talented and all-aroun

I am a self-proclaimed Australia o'phile and there aren't many of us... a close second for the country I feel most invigorated by is Italy. Oh Italy- with your romantic ways, and gorgeous language, and oh yes your gluttonous food. I certainly have my moments with Italy....

I wonder if there is such a thing :) Happy weekend to all ! I am absolutely loving life right now- I was shooting for nearly 1 month straight, and finally have a minute to come up for air; I love my job!

I have a number of talented friends that I am so fortunate to surround myself with.

I got a call- can you shoot at Eataly's Mozzarella Counter? No time needed to think.. YES! And when the woman making the mozzarella asked if I wanted to try some...

I have an ink addiction. It is true. And I am currently inspired to dream up my next creation. Here is another extremely detailed piece of work by the ever talented Mike at Supernaut Tattoo in Easton, PA. Genius.

I am a little early with this- or perhaps perfectly timed. I love love- but alas in the beautiful words from a TV show I saw once

“I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love.” This remains one of my all time fav mantras.

I attended the ASMP NY Fine Art Portfolio Review last week for the first time ever. I was delighted with the response to the work I showed. This is one of 2 photos that received a lot of attention and feedback. The other one.....

Inspired to post this due to my best friend Charlie's adoration for her, and another huge fan- my high school friend Micheal- I give you.... Marilyn.

I read that today is National Chocolate Cake Day! In chocolate cake's honor, and also because I wish I had this sinful cake in front of me at the moment- here is a photo I took with my very generous and talented friend Jenn Jung.

If you know me at all... you will know this.. I love all things ink.
